The ACS Student Chapter, VIT-AP University successfully organized a Science Outreach Program at Golden Rule High School on 07-May-2025, supported by the Community Engagement Grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS). The event aimed to spark scientific curiosity among school students through hands-on chemistry experiments and interactive demonstrations.

A team of faculty members and student volunteers conducted a series of simple, safe, and engaging activities such as pH testing, red cabbage indicator, invisible ink with lemon juice, balloon inflation using vinegar, and more. These experiments were carefully selected to align with school-level science curriculum while making learning fun and experiential.

The outreach activity, coordinated by Dr. Sabeel M. Basheer, Faculty Coordinator, along with Dr. Ritambhara Sharma and Dr. Bibhab Bandhu Majumdar, faculty members, Department of Chemistry, VIT-AP University and PhD Scholars & MSc Chemistry students members, successfully introduced school students to the wonders of chemistry through hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations. The event was well-received and created a positive impact on the young learners, sparking curiosity and interest in science.
