The Machine Learning Club and ACS Student Chapter, VIT-AP University jointly organized The Byte & The Mole Hackathon on 24th September 2025 at IIEC. The objective of the hackathon was to bridge the gap between science and technology by engaging students in real-world problem-solving using machine learning and chemistry-based datasets.

The event received an overwhelming response with 91 teams registering and around 200 students participating. The hackathon was conducted from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in two competitive rounds.

• Round 1: All registered teams participated, working on problem statements across three categories – Medical, Environmental, and
• Round 2: Based on the evaluation, 21 teams were shortlisted for the final round.

The participants showcased their skills in data analysis, model building, and developing user-friendly tools, aligning with the hackathon’s vision of connecting computational techniques with scientific applications.
